Harmount Paddle
Aug 14 2008, 11:29 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 14 2008, 11:29 PM EDT
Who can pass up "warm and fuzzy"?! I'm very excited about this annual event. It's a lot of fun and way cool to see and hang with a whole slew of paddlers all in one place. Come out for it y'all! Do you find this valuable?

I participated in this event and came in dead last. I still had fun. This year I'm looking to upgrade from my 10' Softop to a standup paddleboard, or a sleek knee paddleboard. Any recommendations as to who I could contact for either of these crafts would be appreciated. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I'm thinkin' of entering this for the first time. Soooooo, there should definitely be room for you to advance up from last place!! ;) Several others from another site have also expressed an interest so this should be a really good turn out.... not to mention for a good cause! As for paddle boards, I think I read somewhere that Tom (seakayakca) may be taking his out that day. From what I've heard, he is no novice on the water and any knowledge he could share would definitely send you in the right direction. Quite a few members here also surf their kayaks, so wouldn't hurt to IM them either. Welcome to the group and hope to see ya out on the water soon!

Thanks for the info! I contacted Tom via message and hope to hear from him soon. At last years paddle, there were ones for sale and for demo. I hope to tap into those options. I have to find out if my passion is really paddleboards before I plop down 1K for a used craft!
I also went to Central Coast Surfboards to rent their stand-up demo paddleboard. They sold it! Dang, I might have to paddle the 10' foamie again this year.

hi bill, i will probably be paddling my kayak for this so if you want, you can use my SUP or just try it out sometime before the harmount to see you want to buy one. they are pretty cool. you can call pismo dive shop to see if you can rent one from him. he sells him retail and maybe be able to let you use one for the harmount.
feel free to call me at 805-234-1227

Thanks Tom for the paddle today at old port. Your SUP is stable (once I relax) and smooth in it's glide. I will keep trying out other styles before I throw down cash. It sounds like you will be using yours in the race. With that in mind, let others know that I would love use a stand up paddle board out at the Harmount paddle. I have a kayak as backup, but would prefer the later. Do you find this valuable?
