This is a lovely lake to paddle. The picture is taken at Mallard Cove. It's a nice place to put in because you can park right near the water's edge. There are 3 "arms" at Lopez and each one has something different to offer. The Lopez arm is very pretty and you can paddle to the creek that flows into the lake. When the lake level is high enough, you can even paddle a ways up the creek. The arm that takes you back under the road you drive in on is especially good if you enjoy birding. Look out for the wind at this lake though. It can get to blowing and stir up waves almost like the ocean!
